Abstract
Proteasom je veliki proteinski kompleks bačvastog oblika. Prisutan je u svim eukariotima, uključujući i kvasce te u nekim prokariotima. Sastoji se od tri dijela, 20S katalitičke jedinice i dvije 19S regulatorne jedinice, čijim pravilnim povezivanjem nastaje katalitički aktivan 26S proteasom. Osnovna funkcija 26S proteasoma je razgradnja stanici nepotrebnih i/ili oštećenih proteina, čime je uključen u procese regulacije metabolizma, kontrolu sinteze proteina, kontrolu staničnog ciklusa, kao i imunosni odgovor organizma. Ovim će se završnim radom prikazati trenutne spoznaje o građi i funkciji proteasoma u stanicama.
Abstract (english)
Proteasome is a barrel shaped multi-protein complex, present in the cells of all eucaryotes, including yeasts, and in some procaryotes. Catalytically functional proteasome, 26S proteasome is composed of 20S catalytic unit, and two regulatory 19S units. Proteasome is involved in turnover of numerous cellular proteins, and play active role in regulation of metabolism and protein synthesis, cell cycle control, as well as in the immune response. The aim of present work is to give overview on the structure and functions of proteasome.
