Abstract
Dodaci prehrani koncentrirani su izvori hranjivih tvari ili drugih tvari s prehrambenim i fiziološkim učinkom, koji se uzimaju kao nadopuna normalnoj prehrani. Dodaci prehrani za djecu mogu biti u raznim oblicima: za žvakanje, razmrvljeni, u tekućem obliku ili topljivi, ovisno o dobi djeteta i onome što više voli. Pravilno odabrani i dozirani dodaci prehrani najsigurniji su način da će dijete dobiti primjerenu razinu svih hranjivih tvari koji su mu potrebni i tada možemo govoriti o optimalnoj prehrani. To je još važnije kod djece s posebnim emocionalnim problemima, poteškoćama u učenju i ponašanju te ključno ako dijete ima neke zdravstvene probleme. Uz tablice s idealnim količinama dnevnih potreba dodataka vitamina, minerala, esencijalnih masnih kiselina, opisane su osnovne karakteristike, izvori te učinci na tjelesno, mentalno i emocionalno zdravlje djeteta. Također su dana različita istraživanja koja potvrđuju učinkovitost temeljnih dodataka prehrani u dječjoj dobi tj. vitamina, minerala, živih kultura mikroorganizama kao sastavnih dijelova probiotika, esencijalnih masnih kiselina i ljekovitih biljaka tj. njihovih ekstrakata.

Food supplements are concentrated sources of nutrients or other substances with a nutritional and physiological effects, which are taken as a supplement to a normal diet. Nutritional supplements for children can be in various forms: for chewing, fragmented, in liquid form or soluble, depending on the age of the child and what he prefers. Properly selected and dosed supplements are the safest way to get your child an adequate level of all the nutrients it needs and then we can talk about healthy nutrition, it is even more important for children with emotional problems, learning disabilities and behavioral problems and crucial if the child has some health problems. With a table with the ideal amount of daily supplements of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids are also described basic characteristics, sources and effects on physical, mental and emotional health of the child. Also on different studies that confirm the effectiveness of basic food supplements in children age, vitamins, minerals, live cultures of micro-organisms as components of probiotics, essential fatty acids and herbs that their extracts.
