Abstract
Prehrambene navike u trudnica trebale bi se promijeniti i prilagoditi kako potrebama trudnice tako i potrebama pravilnog rasta i razvoja fetusa. Kako trudnoća odmiče, raste i potreba trudnice za kalorijama, ali i vitaminima, mineralima i mikronutrijentima. Nedostatak ovih elemenata može dovesti do pobačaja ili lošijih ishoda trudnoće. Stoga zdravstveni djelatnici, a posebno ginekolozi, preporučuju uporabu multivitaminskih dodataka za nadoknadu unosa vitamina/minerala/mikronutrijenata zbog neuravnotežene prehrane. Ovo je istraživanje pokazalo da 88% trudnica koristi multivitaminske dodatke prehrani i da je preporuka u 98% slučajeva došla od ginekologa. S druge strane, 12% trudnica nije koristilo multivitaminske dodatke prehrani. Ukupni financijski prihod u kućanstvu pokazao se statistički značajnim pri kupnji jeftinijih ili skupljih dodataka prehrani (p = 0,02). Međutim, za većinu trudnica cijena nije imala značajnu ulogu u izboru, ali su to uzele u obzir. Važno je istaknuti da većina multivitaminskih pripravaka ne sadrži sve minerale/vitamine/mikronutrijente potrebne trudnicama ili fetusima te da su to često doze niže od preporučenih dnevnih doza. Trudnice se stoga moraju, osim uzimanja ovih dodataka prehrani, pobrinuti i za uravnoteženu prehranu koja će osigurati sve hranjive tvari potrebne trudnici i fetusu.
Abstract (english)
Eating habits in pregnant women should be changed and should be adjusted both to the needs of the pregnant woman and to the needs for proper growth and development of the fetus. As the pregnancy progresses, so does the pregnant woman's need for calories, but also vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. Deficiencies of these elements can lead to miscarriage of poorer pregnancy outcomes. Therefore, health professionals, and especially gynecologists, recommend the use of multivitamin supplements to compensate for the intake of vitamins/minerals/micronutrients due to an unbalanced diet. This study showed that 88% of pregnant women use multivitamin supplements and that the recommendation in 98% of cases came from a gynecologist. On the other hand, 12% of pregnant women did not use multivitamin supplements. Total finansial income in the household proved to be statistically significant when buying cheaper or more expensive food supplements (p=0.02). However, for most pregnant women, price did not play a significant role in the selection, but they did take it into account. It is important to point out that most multivitamin preparations do not contain all the minerals/vitamins/micronutrients needed by pregnant women or fetuses, and that doses of these are often lower than the recommended daily doses. Pregnant women must therefore, in addition to taking these dietary supplements, take care of a balanced diet to provide all the nutrients needed for herself and the fetus.
