Abstract
Elektrokemijsko mjerenje odvija se u elektrokemijskoj ćeliji. Najčešće, elektrokemijska ćelija se sastoji od tri elektrode te se zbog toga naziva tro-elektrodna ćelija. Elektrode koje se upotrebljavaju za elektrokemijsko mjerenje su radna, pomoćna ili protu-elektroda i referentna elektroda. Referentna elektroda tijekom elektrokemijskog postupka ne mijenja potencijal, odnosno njezin potencijal je stalan. Ona predstavlja standard prema kojem se mjeri potencijal radne ili indikatorske elektrode. Referentne elektrode koje se najčešće koriste su kalomelova elektroda i elektroda srebro / srebro klorid. Ponekad, referentne elektrode se mogu koristiti i kao pomoćne ili protu-elektrode. Zadatak rada je definirati i objasniti princip rada referentnih elektroda. Od referentnih elektroda pojasnile bi se standardna elektroda srebro / srebro klorid i kalomelova elektroda te njihova primjena u elektrokemijskom postupku. Primjena referentnih elektroda je zastupljena u prehrambenoj, farmaceutskoj i kemijskoj industriji i istraživanjima.
Abstract (english)
Electrochemical measurement takes place in an electrochemical cell. Most commonly, an electrochemical cell consists of three electrodes and is therefore called a three-electrode cell. The electrodes used for electrochemical measurement are the working, auxiliary or counter and reference electrodes. The reference electrode does not change the potential during the electrochemical process, in other words, its potential is constant. It is a standard by which the potential of a working or indicator electrode is measured. The most commonly used electrode references are the calomel electrode and the silver/silver chloride electrode. Sometimes, reference electrodes can also be used as auxiliary or counter electrodes. The aim of this work is to define and explain the principle of operation of reference electrodes. Further, their application in the electrochemical process would be clarified. Reference electrodes are used in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and researches.
