Abstract
Oksidativni stres je fiziološko stanje u stanici okarakterizirano prekomjernim nakupljanjem reaktivnih vrsta kisika (ROS) koje stanični antioksidativni sustav nije u stanju ukloniti. U stanicama plijesni oksidativni stres je glavni pokretač biosinteze aflatoksina. Cilj je ovog rada bio prikazati osnove oksidativnog stresa, te pojasniti na koji to način oksidativni stres dovodi do pojačane produkcije aflatoksina.

Disequilibrium between reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and their removal by cellular antioxidants leads to oxidative stress, which is a prerequisite for the onset of aflatoxin biosynthesis in aspergillus. The aim of this paper was to introduce the reader into the basis of oxidative stress, as well to explain how oxidative stress leads to increased aflatoxin biosynthesis.
