Abstract
Ispitana je nova indikatorska elektroda s tekućom membranom za određivanje koncentracije anionskih površinski aktivnih tvari (PAT). Elektroda je pripravljena ugradnjom lipofilne elektroaktivne tvari, heksadeciltrioktadecilamonijevog tetrafenilborata, u plastificiranu PVC membranu. U području koncentracija natrijevog dodecilsulfata od 3x10-7 do 3x10-3 mol dm-3 dobiven je Nernstnov odziv (58.1 mV/dekada aktiviteta) za samo nekoliko sekundi za deseterostruku promjenu koncentracije u području koncentracija od 1x10-6 do 0,001 mol dm-3. Završna točka u potenciometrijskim titracijama anionske PAT određena je titracijom sa standardnom otopinom kationske površinski aktivne tvari (DMIC). Krivulje potenciometrijskih titracija pokazale su jasno definirane infleksijske točke u svim mjerenjima, omogućujući pouzdano određivanje točke ekvivalencije korištenjem metode prve derivacije. Nova je elektroda pokazala zadovoljavajuća analitička radna svojstva unutar pH područja od 2 do 11. Potenciometrijske krivulje komercijalnih proizvoda, tekućih i praškastih deterdženata, pokazale su dobro definirane infleksije, a usporedba rezultata dobivenih s komercijalnom PAT elektrodom i sa standardnom metodom dvofazne titracije pokazala je zadovoljavajuće slaganje. Nova elektroda ima izuzetna svojstva selektivnosti za natrijev dodecilsulfat uz interferirajuće organske i anorganske anione. Dodatna prednost elektrode je mogućnost titracije anionskih PAT s kraćim ugljikovodičnim lancima, koji se teško titriraju drugim metodama.

A new surfactant electrode with a liquid membrane was tested for quantitative determination of anionic surfactant. A hexadecyltrioctadecylammonium-tetraphenylborate was incorporated into a plasticized PVC membrane as a sensing material. In sodium dodecyl sulfate concentration region between 3 x 10- 7 - 3 x 10-3 mol dm-3 a Nernstian response (58.1 mV/decade of activity) was obtained in a few seconds for tenfold concentration changes between 1x10-6 - 0.001 mol dm-3. The end-point detection in potentiometric titrations of anionic surfactant was determined with standard solution of cationic surfactant (DMIC). The potentiometric titration curves revealed clearly defined inflection points in all measurements, enabling the reliable equivalence point detection using the first derivative method. Novel surfactant electrode showed satisfactory analytical performances within a pH range of 2 to 11. Potentiometric curves of commercial products, liquid and powdered detergents, showed well defined inflection points. Comparison of results to those obtained with the commercial surfactant electrode, and with the standard two-phase titration method exhibited satisfactory mutual agreement. New electrode exhibits excellent selectivity performances for sodium dodecyl sulfate in the presence of interfering inorganic and organic anions. The electrode also enabled the titration of shorter hydrocarbon chain anionic surfactants, which are usually hardly titratable by other methods.
