Abstract

Neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer, Parkinson's and multiple sclerosis, are increasingly affecting the older population, and their cause is either unknown or incompletely defined. Most of these disease is incurable and the only thing you can do is to find a way to slow down their further development. Numerous studies have shown that nutrition and certain food groups may benefit the cognitive abilities of the elderly. Milk and dairy products and fruits and vegetables have shown very good results because of its ingredients that act as antioxidants, regulators of insulin levels, stimulants of nerve impulses etc. Alcohol and coffee also may reduce the risk of neurodegenerative disease when consumed in moderation, the opposite may be the cause of many other diseases.
