Abstract
Prisutnost farmaceutika u okolišu predstavlja veliki ekološki problem, jer se radi o spojevima koji su teško biorazgradivi (ksenobiotici) i zbog toga imaju tendenciju nakupljanja u okolišu. Osim toga, ovi spojevi često pokazuju negativne učinke na floru i faunu ekosustava u kojima se nalaze. Prilikom njihova ulaska u prehrambeni lanac oni negativno utječu i na zdravlje ljudi. Zbog svega navedenoga, potrebno je spriječiti njihovo ispuštanje u okoliš ili ih ukloniti iz okoliša. Jedna od metoda uklanjanja farmaceutika prisutnih u komunalnim i industrijskim otpadnim vodama je adsorpcija, odnosno biosorpcija. Biosorpcija označava proces adsorpcije na različite materijale (adsorbense) biološkog podrijetla, poput aktivne ili inaktivne mikrobne biomase, lignoceluloznog biljnog materijala, životinjskih materijala (kosti, perje) i sl. U ovom radu dat će se prikaz istraživanja koja se bave problematikom uklanjanja farmaceutika iz otpadnih voda biosorpcijom.
Abstract (english)
The presence of pharmaceuticals in the environment is a major environmental problem, as these are compounds that are difficult to biodegrade (xenobiotics) and therefore tend to accumulate in the environment. In addition, these compounds often show negative effects on the flora and fauna of the ecosystems in which they are found. When they enter the food chain, they also negatively affect people's health. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent their release into the environment or remove them from the environment. One of the methods of removing pharmaceuticals present in municipal and industrial wastewater is adsorption, i.e. biosorption. Biosorption means the process of adsorption on various substances (adsorbent) of biological origin, such as active or inactive microbial biomasses, lignocellulosic plant material, animal materials (bones, feathers), etc. This paper presents research that deals with the problem of removing pharmaceuticals from wastewater using biosorption.
