Abstract
Žitarice predstavljaju veliku skupinu ratarskih kultura. Primarni proizvod im je zrno koje se koristi za prehranu ljudi, ali i za druge namjene. Zrna žitarice se do upotrebe čuvaju u skladištima. U skladištima koji su opremljeni uređajima za aktivnu ventilaciju i hlađenje žitarice se mogu skladištiti i s vlagom nešto većom od kritične. Kod običnih skladišta, koja su najzastupljenija u toku pripreme, žitarice se moraju obavezno osušiti na vlagu ispod kritične, tj. ispod 13,5 do 14 %. Zbog toga mjere koje se poduzimaju, kao i način skladištenja zavise od opremljenosti skladišta. Najviše korišteni tipa skladišta za žitarice je silos. Silosi su opremljeni različitim mašinama i uređajima, kojima se vrši transport i priprema, kao i kontrola stanja skladištenog žita. S obzirom da se radi o velikim količinama žitarica koje treba primiti, uskladištiti i isporučiti, od posebnog je značaja da oprema bude odgovarajućeg kapaciteta i pouzdana u radu.

Cereals constitute a large group of field crops. The primary product of them is a grain used for human consumption and for other purposes. Cereals have been stored until the usage in storehouse. In storehouse with active ventilation and cooling, grain can be stored with relative moisture higher than critical. In ordinary storehouse grain must be dried to moisture below the critical, lower than 14%. Silo is the most used type of building for the grain storage. Silo is equipped with various machines and devices which more been used for transport and preparation, as well as the controlling of condition. Consider to large quantity of grain which takes to be received, stored and delivered adequate capacity and safety in operations need to be insure.
