Abstract
Filtracija je važan postupak u pročišćavanju i poboljšavanju kvalitete voda. Osnovni je i najzastupljeniji proces kod svih vrsta obrade vode. Filtracija je postupak tehnološke obrade vode u tijeku kojeg se voda protjecanjem kroz neku poroznu sredinu oslobađa suspendiranih tvari, smanjuje broj bakterija, a može doći i do promjene kemijskih svojstava vode. Membranski postupci, kao noviji doprinos pročišćavanja ili obnavljanja vode, također imaju značajnu ulogu u prehrambenim, farmaceutskim i drugim industrijama. Za postupke filtracije koriste se razna filtarska tijela kao što su prirodni kremeni pijesak, drobljeni antracit, aktivni ugljen, kamen tučenac i umjetno proizvedeni materijali. Ovisno o namjeni, postoje različiti tipovi filtara i različite metode razdvajanja. Slično tome, kod membranskih postupaka, ovisno o upotrijebljenoj membrani razlikujemo mikrofiltraciju, ultrafiltraciju, nanofiltraciju, reverznu osmozu i dr.

Filtration is an important process in treating and improving the quality of water. It is the main and most common process for all types of water. Filtration is technological processing of water during the water flows through a porous media in which suspended substances are removed, the number of bacteria is reduced, and it is possible to change chemical properties of water. Membrane processes, as the recent contribution of treatment or renewals of water, also have an important role in food, pharmaceutical an other industries. For filtration process we use various filter bodies such as natural sand, anthracite, activated carbon, stone and artificially manufactured materials. Depending on the purpose, there are different types of filters and different methods of separation. In membrane processes, depending on the used membrane, we distinguish microfiltration, ultrafilration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, etc.
