Abstract
Mikrobiologija je znanost koja uključuje proučavanje pojavljivanje i važnosti bakterija, mikroskopskih plijesni, praživotinja i algi koje su početak i kraj zamršenih lanaca o kojima ovise svi oblici života. To je dinamička znanost. Ona konstantno uključuje velik broj informacija i stalno dodaje poznate a i nove mikrobiološke postupke koji se rapidno modificiraju i usavršavaju. Rad u mikrobiološkom laboratoriju zahtjeva znanje, spretnost, preciznost. Za kvalitetan rad u mikrobiološkom laboratoriju potrebno je poznavati metode i tehnike rada nacjepljivanja, precjepljivanja, bojanja, sterilizacije preparata, mikroskopiranja. Pridržavati se propisa za sigurno rukovanje uređajima, instrumentima i priborom, kao što su mikroskop, sterilizator, homogenizator, šejker, integrator, sonikator, eze, epruvete, zdjelice, tikvice. Pravilno označavanje, otvaranje, zatvaranje, i transport uzoraka, mjere sigurnosti s materijalima s kojima se rukuje, poznavanje zakonskih propisa, planovi za izvanredne situacije i postupanje u izvanrednim situacijama. Sve gore nabrojano su tehnike rada u mikrobiološkom laboratoriju koje osiguravaju kvalitetan i siguran rad.

Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms - bacteria, microscopic mold, protozoans and algae, which are considered to be the beginning and the end of complex chains that every living being depends on. It is a dynamical science. It includes a large amount of information and microbiological processes that constantly and rapidly change and improve. Knowledge, skills and precision are necessary to work in a microbiological laboratory. It is necessary to be familiar with methods and techniques of grafting, coloring, sterilization and microscopy, and to work in a compliance with rules for appropriate usage of appliances, instruments and equipment (microscope, sterilizer, homogenizer, shaker, integrator, sonicator, loops, tubes, dishes, flasks etc.). Appropriate labeling, opening, closing, samples transportation, security measures while working with materials, knowledge of legislation, contingency plans and emergency procedures – these are working techniques that enable quality and secure work in a microbiological laboratory.
