Abstract
Gljiva bijelog truljenja Trametes versicolor proizvodi tri lignolitička enzima: lakazu, lignin peroksidazu i mangan peroksidazu te posjeduje sposobnost razgradnje lignina, policikličkih aromatskih ugljikovodika i ostalih organskih sintetskih spojeva. Razvijeni matematički model procesa dobro opisuje eksperimentalne podatke.

Parallel abstract (English)
Trametes versicolor is a white-rot fungus that produces three ligninolytic enzymes: laccase, lignin-peroxidase and manganese-peroxidase, and has an efficient degradation capacity of lignin, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and a number of synthetic dyes. Laccases (EC 1.10.3.2) are multi-copper oxidases that catalyze oxidation of substrates by electron transfer and simultaneous reduction of oxygen to water. In this work, Trametes versicolor MZKI G-99 was grown in a submerged culture using waste from paper industry with the aim of laccase production. Once produced, laccase was kinetically characterized and used as a catalyst in the oxidation of three different phenolic compounds: phenol, catechol and coniferyl alcohol, without any purification and concentration steps. Phenolic compounds can be found in numerous industrial wastewaters (phenol and catechol). They can also be the main constituents of the plant cell walls (coniferyl alcohol). The experiments were carried out in a batch reactor and 100% conversion of laccase-catalyzed oxidation of phenol, catechol and coniferyl alcohol was obtained. Mathematical model of the process was developed and fits the experimental data well.
