Abstract
Dodaci prehrani pronalaze svoje mjesto na tržištu kao „preventivna prehrana“. Bogati hranjivim sastojcima, kojima se nadoknađuju isti iz „normalne prehrane“, utječu na zdravlje potrošača. Prehrana trudnica mora biti planirana i praćena. Određene skupine hrane ili sastojci hrane utječu na trudnoću, odnosno razvoj djeteta. Kako bi se osigurao pravilan razvoj djeteta potrebne su veće količine proteina, vitamina, posebice folne kiseline, te minerala. Trudnicama je preporučena konzumacija dodataka prehrani ukoliko je uočen nedovoljan unos „normalnom prehranom“. Posebno se preporučuje suplementacija folnom kiselinom u cilju smanjenja rizika defekta neuralne cijevi, potom multivitaminskim preparatima, te ω-3 masnim kiselinama. Bitno je napomenuti da je unos potrebnih hranjivih sastojaka moguć preko prehrane, te da uzimanje dodataka prehrani nije obavezno.
Abstract (english)
Food supplements are finding it's area on food market as a „preventive nutrition“. Rich in nutrients, which are compensating nutrients form “normal diet”, they affect the health of consumer. Nutrition of pregnant women must be planned and monitored. Certain groups of foods or food ingredients affect pregnancy and child development. To ensure the proper development of the child, pregnancy required extra protein needs, vitamins, especially folic acid and minerals. The intake of food supplements is recommended for pregnant women if the intake thro “normal diet” is not adequate. Folic acid is specifically recommended supplement aiming to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, the same as multivitamins and ω-3 fatty acids due to it’s benefits. It is important to note that the intake of necessary nutrients is possible through diet and taking supplements is not obligatory.
